System Engineering Support
JHNA works with industry to translate performance expectations and tactical behaviors of systems into terms more meaningful to engineers.
JHNA provides Systems Engineering support through requirements decomposition and requirements analysis in support of advanced technology work (e.g., ANS, ARV, UACO, Excalibur and OAV) and through supporting the Director, Defense Research and Engineering with Systems Engineering and Developmental Test and Evaluation oversight of major defense acquisition programs. Part of our requirements decomposition and analysis effort includes facilitating harmonization and socialization within the sponsoring Service or agency as well as among the joint community and user. Our work in DDR&E adds value and expertise to the role of improving early Systems Engineering practices and planning and conducting meaningful Developmental Test and Evaluation in major programs, such as JLTV, Littoral Combat Ship, Virginia Class Submarine, Ground Combat Vehicle, MRAP, and multiple unmanned air systems.
JHNA also adds value to DDR&E through its support in other special actions, such as formal requirements documentation and reviews, Integration Risk Assessment, development of the RAM-C manual, and DABs.
JHNA can provide multiple levels of systems engineering support including, but not limited to:
- A concrete understanding of the DoDAF framework and process and the ability to produce and incorporate Operational and System DoDAF Views (OVs, SVs);
- The development and clarification of various systems performance expectations; and,
- The ability to interface with the user community to ensure that the final system meets user needs.
