David Brian Bearden

Associate

Dave is President of David Bearden Enterprises, Inc. He graduated from West Point in 1983. During his 20 year military career, he served in Infantry and Army Acquisition Corps assignments. His initial tour was with the 1st Armored Division. Afterward, he instructed at the Infantry Officer Basic Course and was a company commander and battalion executive officer at Fort Benning, GA. From there, he went to Monterey, CA and received a Masters in Science of Management in Systems Acquisition Management from the Naval Post Graduate School. Follow-on acquisition assignments included working on the Land Warrior and Soldier equipment programs in the TSM Soldier office and missile programs in the PM Close Combat Missile Systems office. He managed Soldier equipment programs for the nation's most elite special operations units and finished his military career in the TSM Close Combat Missiles office working on the Improved Target Acquisition System and Joint Common Missile programs. His skills and qualifications include the Expert Infantryman's Badge, Ranger Tab, and Parachutist Badge. Dave retired from the military in 2003 and worked at the Infantry Center's Directorate of Combat Developments developing policies and requirements for infantry non-lethal weapons. He joined JHNA in 2004. He has worked as a member of the Future Force Warrior ATD experimentation team and has helped plan, coordinate, and execute several experiments and user evaluations. He has also developed system level operational architectures and use cases to assist the FFW systems engineers. Dave has done extensive work in the area of unmanned robotic assets. He developed operational scenarios detailing the use of unmanned ground vehicles and unmanned aerial vehicles for the Unmanned Autonomous Cooperative Operations program ATD. He has also developed tactical movement behaviors for the Armed Reconnaissance Vehicles in the Army's Future Combat System program. Dave likes fishing and woodworking. He and his wife Terri live near Columbus, GA. They have one daughter, Maggie.
