Title: Support to Office of the Director, Systems and Software Engineering, Office of the Secretary of Defense

Summary: JHNA provides systems engineering technical support to the Office of the Director, Systems and Software Engineering, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), whose mission is to apply sound systems engineering development, test and evaluation and related technical disciplines to the department's acquisition programs. This office raises awareness of the importance of effective systems engineering and drives the state-of-the-practice into technical planning and execution. The office establishes systems engineering policy, guidance, best practices, education and training through collaboration across academia, industry and government communities. It also provides technical insight to Department of Defense leadership to support decision-making. JHNA associates provide objective technical reviews and assessments of Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs), System Evaluation Plans (SEPs), and other program documentation as described in the DoD 5000 series directives, instructions, guidebooks, handbooks, and memoranda. They also assess the adequacy of the programs' test and evaluation and systems engineering efforts, provide acquisition and technical risk, and relate those assessments to the overall systems engineering approach to include the content and adequacy of associated test and evaluation programs.

Deliverables: Technical reports in support of documentation review, meeting summaries, trip reports, and recurring program assessments. Presentations as required to provide updates to senior OSD personnel.
