JHNA Chief Architecture Officer (CAO)




John is the Chief Architecture Officer (CAO) for JHNA. John’s 25 year of professional experience is a unique mix that includes technical and leadership roles in the defense industry, industrial controls, robotics, 3D visualization, missile defense, and active duty service in the US Air Force. He is an entrepreneur at heart, from owning his own software consulting company, then mentoring other startups, as co-founder of a non-profit, to helping his wife start her coffee shop (Alchemy). He is currently supporting the US Army Program Executive Officer (PEO) for Aviation as an architect for the G5 Futures Team. Prior to this, he supported the Project Managers (PM) for Future Vertical Lift (FVL) and Utility Helicopters (on the UH-60V digital avionics upgrade). John holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Columbia College, is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). John is a Software Architecture Professional Certificate Holder from the Software Engineering Institute, having further pursued SEI certificates including Architecture Analysis and Design Language (AADL) and Product Line Management. He also has a certificate in Architecture of Complex Systems from MIT xPRO and a certificate in IT Project Manager from George Washington / ESI. He also holds a Certificate of Theology and Ministry from Princeton Theological Seminary. John is on the board of directors for the Vertical Lift Consortium (VLC). He and his wife live in Huntsville, Alabama alongside their two daughters who are in college.
